Uist & Barra Tree Nursery

About this Nursery

Tagsa Uibhist (Community Gardens' department) are in partnership with the Woodland Trust, (established in 2022, formalised in June 2026). Tagsa oversee the nursery management - tree care, biosecurity, traceability, plant passporting, administration, volunteer coordination, and finance - and Woodland Trust have first refusal on all tree stock, for distribution and planting of native trees in Uist & Barra, through their Croft Woodlands initiative. Our current stock consists of birch downy, rowan, alder, hazel, hawthorn, grey & eared willow.
